SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man they say shot a woman in the mouth late Monday night.
Johnny Castillo, 30, was taken into custody on Tuesday.
The shooting happened in the 6600 block of South Flores Street near SW Military Drive and Pleasanton Road on the city's South Side.
The call came in as a disturbance behind the Capital Motel. When police arrived they found the victim shot in the mouth. Police said Castillo ran from the scene on foot. They believe Castillo and the victim knew each other.
The woman was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for her injuries.
Castillo is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
