SAN ANTONIO -

A man accused of robbing a San Antonio convenience store was taken into custody while he was trying to get on a bus, San Antonio police said.

The suspect walked into the store in the 4700 block of West Avenue late Tuesday night and pulled out a knife, police said.

The suspect got some money and a cell phone from the store clerk, and fled on foot, according to SAPD investigators. Police said the suspect then attempted to catch a bus nearby and was spotted by an officer.

The robber fled again, but was wrestled to the ground by the officer and arrested. Police said no injuries were reported and have not released the man's name.
