The San Antonio Police Department is asking for the public's help finding two robbers who stole cigarettes, cash and whiskey from a liquor store.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Don's & Ben's Liquor at 8130 Marbach Road.
Police said one of the robbers grabbed an 18-pack of Budweiser beer from a cooler as the second robber walked toward the front counter.
The robber placed the beer on the counter and asked for two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes from behind the counter. At that point, police said the store employee walked behind the counter and bent over to grab the cigarettes from a lower shelf.
As the employee's back was turned, the first robber pulled a small black-handled revolver from his waistband, showing it to the employee and said, "Give me all the [expletive] cash, too," according to police.
A second employee then turned around and placed the two cartons of cigarettes on the counter and also saw the revolver.
The first employee then removed the cash drawer from the register and placed it on the counter, at which point police said the robber grabbed all the cash, shoving it in his pants pockets, and took the cartons of cigarettes.
The robber then turned to the second robber, who police said had grabbed a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey and said, "Let's go." They both left out of the front door of the store.
Two witnesses were standing near the front door of the store during the robbery. Police said they didn't see the gun or overhear any conversations between the robbers and store clerks, but they were able to provide descriptions of the robbers.
A third witness told police the robbers left the liquor store in a mid-'90s gray and red four-door Chevrolet Caprice or Impala, and headed eastbound on Latigo.
One of the robbers was described by police as a white Hispanic man in his early 20s who is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds with a medium build and has black hair. He wore a thick black winter jacket, black shorts and a black or brown beanie.
Police described the other robber as a white Hispanic man also in his early 20s who is 6 feet tall, weighs 140 pounds with a light build and has black hair. He wore a black hooded windbreaker and khaki shorts.
Anyone with information about the robbers' identities or their whereabouts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP. Crime Stoppers said it will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrests of those responsible for the robbery.
