Police searching for man who stole, set fire to truck

Man was also involved in hit and run, police say

SAN ANTONIO – Police are searching for a man who stole a 2007 Toyota Tacoma in San Antonio on Jan. 17 and was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The Tacoma was stolen from the Yates Community Center at 568 Rasa Drive at 5:30 p.m., according to officials. Police said as the man fled, he was involved in a hit-and-run accident near Loop 410.

An hour and a half after the incident, the man was seen setting the truck on fire with a lighter and a can of gasoline near Wabash Street and McCauley Avenue, police said.

About 10:20 p.m., the man and a woman were caught on video trying to use stolen credit and debit cards during a robbery at a Valero gas station on the city's East Side.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the arson or anyone involved in a felony crime.
