SAN ANTONIO - People on two East Side streets woke up to gunfire twice in one night. In one incident early Thursday morning, a man was shot in the backside.
Officers responded twice within a few hours' time to the 800 block of N. New Braunfels Avenue and to the 200 block of Longview.
Both shootings on N. New Braunfels happened outside a Hayes Food Mart.
According to a sergeant at the scene, shots were fired at the business shortly before 1 a.m., and again just before 4 a.m., by someone in a dark-colored or maroon sport utility vehicle.
A man who was standing outside the store was hit in the backside by the second round of gunfire. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with a non life-threatening wound.
A few miles away, two homes were hit by gunfire on Longview Street.
One shooting happened after 10 p.m. Wednesday. Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday, someone shot at the home right next door.
Police said they found six or seven bullet holes in the walls of the second home, but no people were hurt in either incident.
Officers did not release a description of the shooters. However, they said it appears that person may have fired the shots from a car.
