Cruz defeats Warrick in District 2, five new council members elected

Runoff race brings five fresh faces to city council, one incumbent returns

SAN ANTONIO – Final runoff election numbers rolled in just before 10 p.m. Saturday, putting five new faces at the helm of their respective districts.

Roberto Trevino is the only city councilman returning to his position as District 1's representative.

District 2 incumbent Alan Warrick was defeated in his re-election bid.

With 100 percent of the vote counted, Warrick fell to William "Cruz" Shaw, who received 3,752 votes compared to 2,905 for Warrick.

Shaw was among five new council members elected.

In District 6, Greg Brockhouse defeated Melissa Cabello Havrda. Brockhouse garnered 4,708 votes compared to 4,274 for Havrda.

Manny Pelaez defeated Cynthia Brehm in the District 8 race. Palaez received 7,084 votes, while Brehm got 5,779 votes.

In District 9, John Courage defeated Marco Barros. Courage garnered 8,489 votes, compared to 7,633 for Barros.

Clayton Perry defeated Ezra Johnson in the District 10 race. Perry received 7,156 votes, compared to 6,324 votes for Johnson.

District 1 incumbent Councilman Roberto Trevino was re-elected to office. Trevino got 5,337 votes compared to challenger Michael Montano, who received 4,990 votes.​
