Former President Bill Clinton will return to San Antonio next month to present an award to former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros.
President Clinton will present Cisneros with the World Affairs Council of San Antonio International Citizen Award at a luncheon scheduled for Feb. 26 at the Marriott Rivercenter. Clinton will also serve as the event's keynote speaker.
Cisneros is currently Chairman of CityView, Chairman of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation and Chair-Elect of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Cisneros was appointed Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during President Clinton's administration.
In a statement, chair of the board, Nancy Loeffler, describes the mission of the World Affairs Council as "promoting public understanding of international affairs and enhancing the ability of our citizens and future leaders to participate in a global community."
All proceeds from the Feb. 26 dinner will support the programs of the Council of San Antonio, according to a press release.
