Prosecutors: Cowboys DT Josh Brent violated bond by drinking alcohol
Cowboys DT Josh Brent, charged with deadly wreck that killed teammate, back in court
Prosecutors will seek to revoke the bond of a Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle awaiting trial on an intoxicated manslaughter charge.
A court hearing is scheduled for Friday morning for Josh Brent. He's charged in the Dec. 8 crash that killed Jerry Brown Jr., a practice squad player who was a passenger in the car.
Police say Brent was driving with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit for driving.
He's been free on $100,000 bond, but prosecutors say he has violated his bond by drinking alcohol and tampering with a monitoring device.
Brent's career remains on hold pending the outcome of this case. He's scheduled for a fall trial date on the intoxicated manslaughter charge.
If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison. He could also get probation.
