SAN ANTONIO -

A pursuit in South Bexar County Saturday night left three sheriff's deputy vehicles stuck in their tracks and the suspects on the loose.

It began around 8:45 p.m. in South Bexar County when officials say a deputy was pursuing a vehicle on Jett Road when his vehicle got caught in some bushes and caught fire.

Two other sheriff's deputy patrol cars were also in pursuit of the suspects when their vehicles got stuck in sand.

The suspects' truck also got stuck and at least 20 people, all believed to be undocumented immigrants, fled the scene.

The owner of the property was able to pull two of the vehicles out of the sand.

No injuries were reported.

Sheriff's officials are searching for the suspects by helicopter and with a K-9 unit.

It is still unclear why the pursuit started.
