SAN ANTONIO -

Students, teacher and staff headed back to school Monday are expected to be greeted with showers across the San Antonio area throughout the day.

The National Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms across South Central Texas, mainly after 7 a.m. 

KSAT Weather Meteorologist Mike Osterhage said the high is expected to reach 93 and stay mostly cloudy. Mike says to expect scattered showers when kids get out of school around 3 p.m.

The wet weather could stick around. Chances for showers and thunderstorms decrease Tuesday to 40 percent, according to the NWS.
