The San Antonio Police Department is asking for the public's help in catching a motorcyclist who filmed himself driving reckless on the highway.
Video was posted on a Facebook page with a caption that read, in part, "catch me if you can."
The video was filmed from the motorcyclist’s helmet. It shows the motorcyclist driving between traffic at a high rate of speed in an excess of 100 miles per hour. The video has since been shared more than 10,000 times.
Sgt. Javier Salazar with SAPD is concerned if the motorcyclist is not caught soon, this reckless behavior will continue and someone will get seriously injured.
"Really all it would have taken was a split second for him to impact the lives of several people possibly killing someone by his very actions," said Salazar.
What makes this video so disturbing, it was in broad daylight, in what appears to be rush-hour traffic on Interstate 35 North.
After further investigation of the motorcyclist's Facebook page, San Antonio police think he could be 26-year-old Albert Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is currently wanted by police for two outstanding felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant for family violence.
“At this point he's got the charges of what he's wanted for which is evading arrest, retaliation and the family violence warrant, and additionally if this is him to be found in this video he's going to be looking at additional charges," said Salazar.
Police believe Rodriguez is still in the area. As quickly as social media spread this dramatic video, they're hoping this reckless motorcyclist will be off the streets just as fast.
"Well, it just goes to show that you call negative attention to yourself, on your social media Web pages, bad things can happen. We're hoping by putting it out to the viewers they're going to be able to tell us a little bit about where he is, where he can be found, so we can place him under arrest," said Salazar.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Albert Rodriguez is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP. Callers will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward.
