Retail employee accused of stealing nearly $18,000 in scam, authorities say

SAN ANTONIO – A Sam’s Club employee is accused of running a scam and stealing nearly $18,000, authorities said.

Kacey Harris is charged with felony theft. San Antonio police said Harris would manually override the register and create ghost refunds. That money would then be put on gift cards.

A store audit in August is what led management to look into the discrepancy. Video surveillance was reviewed, showing Harris committing the crime.

Harris has since quit her job at Sam’s.
