Reward offered in 2009 slaying

Javier Ramos, 26, killed on Dec. 9, 2009

SAN ANTONIO – A heartbroken mother asked for the public's help Friday, seeking any information that might help solve her son's death.

Molly Zapata said her family is still reeling from the death of Javier Ramos who was killed during a home invasion in December 2009.

Someone had kicked in the back door of the house and shot and killed Ramos, police said, but investigators have no suspects in his death.

"My son was such a good person," said Zapata. "He should not have died this way."

Police have had trouble identifying leads in the case, and have put the word out to the public for help.

Any one with information on the crime is asked to call 224-STOP. A reward of $5,000 still stands for information leading to an arrest.
