SAN ANTONIO -

Employees of a northeast side Pizza Hut were robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning.

San Antonio police said employees told officers they had just closed the restaurant in the 14600 block of Nacogdoches Road around 1 a.m. when they were approached by the robber outside.

Employees told police the robber demanded cash and stole their cellphones along with the restaurant's night deposit.

The robber then fled on foot behind an apartment complex and SAPD launched its Blue Eagle helicopter to search for him, but he had not been located as of 6 a.m.

No injuries were reported and employees gave police a description of the robber.

Police said a similar armed robbery recently occurred near that location.
