SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police said a quick-thinking victim helped them catch up with a man suspected of robbing her at gunpoint.

Angel Perales Jr., 20, was arrested Saturday on a charge of aggravated robbery.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the 17-year-old victim supplied police with Perales’ driver’s license number.

The affidavit stated that the teen called Perales on the phone July 10 and asked him to drive her and a friend to McDonald’s.

They said on the way home, he stopped the car, got out and began talking to some people.

The teen and her friend said they began getting the feeling that something wasn’t right, so they copied down the number from Perales’ driver’s license, which he had left in the car, the affidavit stated.

The victim said after they arrived home, she remained in the car to talk to Perales. She said he suddenly pointed a gun at her and demanded money, the affidavit stated.

Detectives used the driver’s license number and obtained a picture of Perales which they put into a photo lineup, the affidavit stated.

Both the victim and her friend identified him as the robber, the affidavit stated.
