Police arrested 29-year-old Valentine Villanueva on Thursday.
They say Villanueva walked into a Shell station at 606 West Theo to make a withdrawal. He got the cash but had to leave on foot after his ride left.
"I think he was going to try and get in a vehicle but once the people in the vehicle realized what he'd done they wanted no part of it and drove off," said Sergeant Russ Van Geffen with the SAPD robbery task force.
Villanueva is charged with one count of robbery but more charges could follow.
The robbery task force believes Villanueva robbed at least three other places in the last week and a half.
