SA nonprofit delivers Christmas trees, ornaments to Harvey survivors

Nearly 100 people gifted trees

PORT ARANSAS, Texas – A San Antonio nonprofit is helping Hurricane Harvey victims for the holidays.

The Chow Train was in Port Aransas on Sunday, giving out Christmas trees and ornaments.

The early Christmas presents were delivered to nearly 100 households.

"It's amazing that they have really gone out of their way and really done so much for the community and for my family also," Margaret Montemayor said.

Another woman said she was happy to hear about the gifts. She has three grandchildren who would have celebrated the holiday without a tree.

The Aransas Police Department also helped and came up with a list for those in need.
