SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio subcontractor Michael Scaletta, 42, is facing theft charges after he forged a check worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to an arrest affidavit.
Investigators said Scaletta's company was hired to handle permits at a local Walmart under construction.

Police believe he created fake invoices from the San Antonio Water System for sewer impact fees, which totaled more than $200,000. Detectives said he never applied for the permits from SAWS.
Police said Scaletta then cashed a check from the construction company and deposited the funds into his own bank account.
He has been charged with forgery, credit card abuse and identity theft.
