SAFD: 1 person treated for smoke inhalation as crews battle major house fire

More than 15 units at house fire in 4200 block of Misty Springs Drive

SAN ANTONIO – More than 15 fire crews with the San Antonio Fire Department are working to put out a major house fire on the far Northeast Side.

Joe Arrington, a spokesperson with the Fire Department, said the first crew arrived around 4:48 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 4200 block of Misty Springs Drive, which is near the intersection of Ackerman and Binz-Engleman roads.

The first crew found heavy fire in the single-family home and had feared flames might spread to neighboring houses, Arrington said.

Arrington said the scene is still active and one person is being evaluated by emergency medical personnel for smoke inhalation.
