SAN ANTONIO -

A winter weather advisory is now in effect until 11 a.m. for the San Antonio area.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is for sleet and snow accumulations which could add up to one half inch.

An upper level disturbance will generate a band of sleet and snow from northern San Antonio across the New Braunfels and San Marcos areas then east to La Grange and Lexington. The sleet and snow are predicted to end by 11 a.m.

The NWS also says wind chills are in the teens and 20s across the area.
