SAN ANTONIO -

State District Judge Angus McGinty is expected to submit his letter of resignation on Friday.

The San Antonio Express-News reported McGinty's expected resignation comes because he is at the center of a federal corruption investigation.

McGinty is accused of reducing bail on defendants who appeared before him in exchange for auto repairs.

The investigation is also reportedly related to the bribery investigation that involves defense attorney Al Acevedo. McGinty's name is still listed on the ballot for the March primary.
