San Antonio man killed in alleged drive-by shooting identified
Mario Martinez, 55, shot Friday night on Howard Street
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a man who was shot Friday night at his North Side home and later died at the hospital.
Mario Martinez, 55, was shot in the upper body around 9:45 p.m. at his home in the 4600 block of Howard Street.
San Antonio police said Martinez was transported to University Hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but died early Saturday morning.
SAPD investigators said the gunfire came from someone in a grey four-door sedan and was believed to be a drive-by shooting.
Several shots were fired into the home, but no other injuries were reported, San Antonio police said. The shooter remained at-large as of Sunday 10 p.m. and a motive was unknown.
