SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police have arrested a couple in connection with a pair of robberies that occurred before and after Christmas Day.

Oscar Dominguez, 28, and Soledad Ontiveros, 28, are both charged with robbery.

According to an arrest affidavit, San Antonio responded to a robbery on Dec. 23 at a Target store on SW Military Drive where a man pepper sprayed an employee to steal some merchandise. The affidavit stated a woman was with the man during the robbery.

The employee recognized the female suspect and identified her to police as Ontiveros.

Three days later, SAPD responded to another robbery at a Payless shoe store on West Avenue.

The employee told police a couple walked into the store and the male suspect used pepper spray on her, the affidavit stated.

The employee ran to the back of the store to get away from the couple. When she returned to the front, she said the cash register and credit card reader had been stolen.

A day later, police researched the suspects information and the vehicle used in both robberies. They located the suspects and took them into custody. Dominguez and Ontiveros were then identified in a photo lineup.

The affidavit stated Dominguez was also in possession of a partially used canister of pepper spray and Ontiveros confessed to the crimes.
