A theft suspect is accused of stealing jewelry from friends, then posting pictures of himself wearing the jewelry on Facebook.
San Antonio police said a man and woman contacted them about the thefts which happened last Spring and told them they suspected Mark Guzman, 26, was responsible, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The affidavit stated that the man told police Guzman had visited his home and after he left, he noticed his gold chain was missing.
The woman reported that about $1,100 worth of jewelry had been stolen from her home, including a gold necklace, ring and earrings, the affidavit stated.
Both victims told police they later saw photos on Facebook of Guzman wearing their gold chains, the affidavit stated.
Investigators said they found information showing that the items had been pawned at some point after that, the affidavit stated.
Detectives believe Guzman used relatives to handle the transactions at the pawn shops without telling them the jewelry was stolen, the affidavit stated.
