SAN ANTONIO -

A 22-year-old man is facing charges in a robbery that involved a victim who had advertised a laptop computer for sale on the website Craigslist. Jared Nash was arrested Wednesday on a charge of robbery.

The 35-year-old victim contacted police in September, telling them a man had run off with his computer in the middle of what he thought would be a sale.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the victim had made arrangements to conduct the business transaction at a motel with a man who answered his ad.

He said when he handed over his laptop to that man to inspect, he instead ran off with it. The affidavit stated that the victim and a friend both chased after the man, but he knocked the friend to the ground and jumped into a waiting car.

Police said the incident was captured on the motel’s surveillance camera, and they used the pictures to identify Nash.
