SAN ANTONIO -

Several people, including a San Antonio police officer, were hurt in two separate accidents early Monday morning on the Northwest Side.

Both of the drivers who caused the crashes were arrested for DWI, San Antonio police said.

The first accident happened around midnight in the 7600 block of Bandera.

An SAPD officer was taking a report on a minor accident when the alleged drunk driver rear-ended the officer's patrol car and pushed it into an SUV involved in the minor accident.

The police officer suffered a minor hand injury. No one had to be taken to the hospital and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI.

About an hour and half later, a truck carrying three men crashed on Callaghan Road near Evers Road.

The driver was speeding westbound on Callaghan when he lost control, caused the truck to spin and struck two posts, police said.

The driver and one of the passengers attempted to flee the scene, but were quickly caught, police said. All three men were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The passengers were not expected to face charges, but police said the driver would be charged with DWI and fleeing the scene.
