Police seek identity of vehicle robber who wore hospital mask

Crime Stoppers offers reward leading to robber's arrest

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robber who wore a hospital mask when stealing a vehicle.

The theft happened Sunday in the 1700 block of West Gramercy Place.

A victim told police he took the trash out to a dumpster on the side of the building. When he was walking back to the front door of the business, the robber walked up to him, pointed a gun at his head and told the victim in Spanish, "Give me the keys," according to the police report.

The victim gave the robber the keys to a vehicle parked in front of the building. Police said the robber took the keys and told the victim to go inside. The robber got in the vehicle and left the area, heading south.

The victim told police the handgun had a black frame with a silver slide, the report said.

The robber is described as a tall male with a slim build and shaved head. Police said he wore a light-blue shirt and a white hospital mask.

The stolen vehicle is described as a blue four-door 2012 Chrysler with dark-tinted windows with a silver cross near the back license plate, police said.

Crime Stoppers said it will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the theft.

Anyone with information regarding the robber's identity or his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867).
