SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police were forced use a taser on a man who resisted arrest early Friday morning.

According to police, the gang unit was patrolling the area just south of downtown around 1 a.m. when they ran the license plates of a vehicle.

Officers discovered the driver had traffic warrants out for his arrest and followed the him until he stopped on Bank Street near King Roger Street.

Officers said the man resisted arrest and they had to use a taser to subdue him.

Police said the suspect will be charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest in addition to charges related to the traffic warrants.
