Press box at hockey stadium named after former team intern

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage dedicated its press box Saturday to a former team intern who was shot and killed during the Aurora, Colorado massacre in July.

Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sports broadcaster, used the name Jessica Redfield,

The team officially changed the name of the press box to the ‘Jessica Redfield Press Box' in a pre-game ceremony.

Sandy and Lonnie Phillips, Jessica's mother and father, dropped the ceremonial first puck before the game began.

"It means everything to us," said Mrs. Phillips. "It's a great way to pay tribute to the life of someone who was raised in San Antonio and fell in love with sports in San Antonio."

Ghawi was killed \with 11 others in a theater when a man shot them on the opening night of the last installment of the most recent Batman trilogy.

"We get through day by day, sometimes even moment by moment," said Phillips. "But tonight is about honoring and celebrating Jessica's life."
