Body found by railroad tracks on city's SW Side identified

Victim identified as Roland Pantoja, 34

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said the victim was identified as Roland Pantoja, 34. The cause of death was multiple sharp blunt force injuries.

The body of a man who had been stabbed several times was discovered Tuesday morning near some railroad tracks on the city's Southwest Side.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said a passerby found the body around 9 a.m. in a brushy area near Quintana Road and Southwest Loop 410.

McManus said he wasn't sure if the stabbing happened where the body was found or if the body was taken there. He said the body has been at the location since at least midnight.

The man is possibly in his 20s or 30s.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy and identify the victim.
