SAN ANTONIO - Two San Antonio police officers are on administrative leave after firing shots that killed a man Saturday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m. in the 6500 block Spring Branch officers responded to a burglar in action call. When they arrived, a man in his 20s was holding a knife, police said.
After several calls for the man to drop his knife he refused. Instead, the suspect charged after police, and that’s when both officers opened fire, hitting the man one time each.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The veteran officers have been placed on temporary administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
