KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The family of a 10-year-old boy killed last year at the Schlitterbahn in Kansas City has reached a settlement with the water park.
A spokesperson for the water park confirmed the settlement but declined to elaborate on the details of the terms of the agreement.

Caleb Schwab, the son of a state politician, was killed in August while riding Verrückt, a water slide dubbed the tallest on Earth.

Police said the child suffered a “fatal neck injury.” However, one witness said the child was decapitated.
At 168 feet in height, Verrückt was built in Kansas City, because it didn't have a height restriction, designer John Schooley told CNN when it opened in July 2014.
The water slide never reopened after Schwab’s death, and in November, the water park announced it would dismantle the ride.
