SAN ANTONIO -

Síclovía, San Antonio's largest health and wellness event, will have a new location for 2014.

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio, along with presenting sponsor H-E-B, announced its signature outdoor fitness event will move to the city's South Side.

Síclovía will now begin at the intersection of South St. Mary's Street and East Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard and will travel south along East Mitchell Street and Mission Road to Mission Concepcion, for a total of about 2.5 miles.

The free event has traditionally taken place on a 2.5-mile route along Broadway between Alamo and Lion's Field Park.

Organizers said the intent of the route change is to expose new communities to Síclovía and showcase more of San Antonio's landscape.

Síclovía participants can enjoy activities and vendors at key stops at Roosevelt Park and Mission Concepcion. Along the route, participants will be able to participate in Reclovias, which are areas featuring group activities and exercise demonstrations.

At least 65,000 people are expected to attend this year's event. More than 73,000 people attended in September 2013.

Síclovía will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 30.
