NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fla. -

A major search and rescue is underway after the pier of a restaurant and bar collapsed, causing people to fall into the water.

The incident happened Thursday night at the Shuckers Bar And Grill, located at 1819 79th Street Causeway in North Bay Village, during a NBA Ginals Game 4 watch party.

There are divers in the water and multiple agencies have responded to the scene, such as the Coast Guard.

Miami's WPLG reports at least 18 rescue units have been dispatched, including some rescue trucks and engines.

As many as 100 people were on the deck when it collapse, said Lt. Eugene German, with Miami Dade Fire and Rescue.

Of those, 24 people who were pulled from the water are being treated, including three in critical condition.

Others considered walking wounded have been treated and released.

All on the deck have been accounted for, but divers and search helicopters are still on scene to make absolutely sure there are no additional victims, German said.

German said the deck collapse is being treated as “mass casualty incident," with all resources available being used.
