Second suspect named in food mart beating death

Murder warrant issued for Bernardo Crisanto in death of Juan Romero

SAN ANTONIO – Another suspect has been identified in the beating death of Juan Romero.

Police said 25-year-old Bernardo Crisanto (pictured above) along with two other men, beat Romero, 41, to death outside the Diamond D Food Mart on Vance Jackson Road around 10 p.m. Monday.

Family members of Romero said the fatal beating was connected to a perceived pool debt owed by one of the men to Romero.

Police have also issued a warrant arrest for 41-year-old Larry Castro (pictured below right) in connection with Romero's death.

A third man, seen in surveillance footage wearing a grey muscle shirt, is also wanted in connection with Romero's death.

Crisanto is described as being 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 380 pounds.

Castro is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.

Police are asking for anyone with information as to Crisanto or Castro's whereabouts -- or anyone with information as to the identity of the man in the grey muscle shirt -- to contact San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5000.00 for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
