SAN ANTONIO -

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault that allegedly occurred during a Spurs game at the AT&T Center last month.

Though very few details are being released, BCSO spokesman Paul Berry said the victim is a female.

The alleged assault reportedly took place on Dec. 13 inside a restroom, but Berry would not release a description or give any further details on the attacker.

“Most of the issues we have at the AT&T Center revolve around scalping of tickets, maybe drunk and disorderly conduct, but nothing like this is a common occurrence,” Berry said. “There's always the possibility that something like this can happen, but it is far outside the norm of what we're used to seeing.”

Off-duty BCSO deputies serve as security at the AT&T Center, since the facility is owned by Bexar County.

On Wednesday evening, Spurs Sports & Entertainment issued the following statement:

“We regularly evaluate building operation procedures in order to assure our fans of a safe environment for all events that take place at the AT&T Center.”
