Two groups are planning protests at VIA Metropolitan Transit's meeting Tuesday evening, saying that voters should be able to vote on whether or not the transit agency should proceed with its streetcar project.
Several protests have already taken place, with demonstrators arguing that the money for the streetcar plan could be better spent in San Antonio.
San Antonio councilman Joe Krier also sent a letter to City Attorney Robert Greenblum earlier this month, posing questions about the streetcar plan including whether or not the city could hold a referendum on the issue during the next citywide election.
Do you think the decision to proceed with the streetcar plan should be up to voters? Sound off and rate other opinions below.
