It was an amazing rush for Spurs fans on Sunday, as the San Antonio Spurs took Game 1 in the Western Conference Finals against the Memphis Grizzlies.
"I'm happy," said Susan Rodriguez, a Spurs fan. "That's great. I knew they were going to do it. I mean look how high the score is. They got this."
Many fans were concerned about Sunday's game before hand, given the history between the two team.
"You know, a lot of people were scared of Memphis and stuff, but they (the Spurs) are kicking butt," said Alysia Carrasco, a Spurs fan. "They are doing good."
Sunday's win was not only a "Spurs win," but at Buffalo Wild Wings at 410 and 151, it was also a "Spurs crowd."
San Antonio fans wouldn't even give the few Memphis fans there a chance to speak.
It was just two years ago that the Memphis Grizzlies knocked the Spurs out of the playoffs. So, for many fans on Sunday, the first win over the Grizzlies was even sweeter.
"We're going to take this," said Roman Galindo, a Spurs fan. "It's not going to be like the last time. Things are going to be different this year. This is the year."
"I think it's a hard conference," said Sean Ayoung, a Knicks and Spurs fan. "And, I think it's a team that deserves to win right now. They're not show-boaters, they don't talk a lot of smack. I like the Spurs, especially Ginobli and Parker, but they're getting up there in age so, they need to do it now. I hope they win. And, I don't like the Grizzlies."
And although there were a lot of happy fans on Sunday, experts say it's still just game one. The Spurs have to keep up that momentum for the whole series if they want to win.
They face the Grizzlies again Tuesday night at the AT&T Center.
