Two men were arrested thanks to an officer who watched KSAT Wednesday night.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated the officer recognized 19-year-old Anthony Joseph Stanley on surveillance tape burglarizing two stores in the 8000 block of Culebra on the west side earlier this week.
The officer said he’s a known burglar and he’s had run ins with him. With that tip and many others that poured in, officers arrested Stanley Thursday.
They said he’s the same man caught on tape smashing display cases and the store’s front door. They also arrested an accomplice, 24-year-old Evan Potts.
Potts wasn’t caught on tape, but investigators believe he was at the crime scene and charged him with possession of stolen property.
We did some further checking on Anthony Stanley. We discovered just this year alone, he’s been arrested twice for possession of marijuana, twice for theft and also for evading arrest.
Police said when they arrested the two men Thursday they did recover some of the stolen merchandise from the stores.
