The National Weather Service has issued a significant weather advisory has been issued until 1:15 p.m. for southern Comal, eastern Bexar, northern Wilson and southwestern Guadalupe counties.

Another significant weather advisory was issued until 1:15 p.m. for extreme northwestern Atascosa, western Bexar and extreme eastern Medina counties.

A strong thunderstorm was detected near Cibolo or seven miles northeast of Universal City at 12:18 p.m. and moving south at 15 mph. Another storm was detected near Sea World at 12:27 p.m. and was moving south at 15 mph.

Both storms have wind gusts up to 50 mph, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Heavy rain may flood low-lying areas like ditches, low-water crossings and underpasses. Motorists are advised not to drive across flooded roads.

The storm may intensify so be sure to monitor KSAT 12 and for possible warnings.
