SAN ANTONIO -

This Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 a.m. marks the end of daylight saving time.

That means it's time to "fall back" and turn your clocks back by one hour.

The San Antonio Fire Department is using this time to remind citizens that it's a good time to change the batteries in their smoke detectors.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, almost two-thirds of home fire deaths in 2005-2009 resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.

SAFD officials are also encouraging people to have their central heating systems inspected and serviced and have a professional chimney sweep inspect chimneys and fireplaces for cracks, blockages or leaks.
