SAN ANTONIO -

A suspect linked to a deadly shooting in December turned himself into San Antonio police late Thursday night.

Matthew Hernandez, 18, is charged with murder in connection with the death of 19-year-old Tahjik Lomas.

Lomas was gunned down on Dec. 12 at a home in the 14000 block of Patricia Drive on the North Side. Another man was also wounded in the shooting.

San Antonio police released a photo of Hernandez on Thursday as a person of interest.

SAPD investigators said the photo received heavy attention on local television outlets and social media, and Hernandez told officers he was advised by either friends or family to turn himself in.

Police said the shooting appeared to be the result of a botched drug deal. Two other men were with Hernandez at the time of the shooting, however, it was unknown if they were in custody.
