Teen charged with capital murder, robbery faces third charge for separate crime

Olanda Taylor is accused of killing Zachary Benavidez

SAN ANTONIO – A teen facing a capital murder charge and a robbery charge in two separate cases is now facing a new charge in a third crime.

Olanda Taylor, 18, is charged with aggravated robbery. He’s accused of hitting up a Jack in the Box on the Northeast Side on June 7.

Investigators said Taylor and another teen robbed customers at gunpoint. They said the duo was also involved in another robbery that same day at a Metro PCS store on the city’s East Side.

Taylor was charged in the death of Zachary Benavidez on June 7, the same day he and the other teen allegedly went on their crime spree.

Benavidez was working at the Diamond Food Mart when investigators said Taylor and the other suspect entered the store armed with guns. The victim was shot multiple times.
