SAN ANTONIO -

A teen is in critical condition after a driver ran him down and then took off.

Police say they're now searching for the driver who hit the victim as he attempted to cross an intersection at S. Flores and Southcross around 11 p.m. Saturday.

They say the teen and his father crossed the street when the driver ran a red light and hit the boy, knocking him 30 feet into a parking lot.

Police say that driver then took off.

EMS transported the victim to SAMMC in critical condition.

Police are now looking for the hit-and-run driver and a white compact sedan with heavy front end damage and a possible broken windshield.
