A suspect in a teen's kidnapping and sexual assault case is now linked to another series of crimes. A charge of burglary was filed against Johnny Garcia, 33, on Friday.
Garcia already was accused of holding a 15-year-old girl against her will. He was arrested in connection with that case on Feb. 17 and remained in custody.
In an arrest warrant affidavit related to the earlier case, San Antonio police stated that another man, Nicolas Gutierrez, 28, had offered the teen a ride home, but then drove her to a motel instead where he held her against her will and sexually assaulted her.
The girl told police that at one point when Gutierrez went out, Garcia continued to hold her against her will, the affidavit stated.
The latest charges against Garcia link him to a series of business burglaries.
Last week, police arrested Lourdes Lara-Victoria whom they said broke into several businesses by shooting out the windows.
One of those locations was a Touchstone Wireless store which had about $41,000 worth of cellphones stolen.
The affidavit related to that case stated that Lara-Victoria was seen on surveillance video along with a man, and that police suspected several other people may have been involved.
Investigators now accuse Garcia of taking part in those crimes.
