CANYON LAKE - The search for two missing kayakers has ended tragically at Canyon Lake on Sunday.

The Comal County Sheriff's Office says boaters spotted the bodies of the two brothers Sunday morning in lake waters just west of Canyon Dam.

Larry Earp, 25, and his brother Tanner Earp, 17, were last seen launching their kayaks from Jacob's Creek Park around noon Saturday.

Family members reported the pair missing Saturday night when they didn't return from kayaking.

The Sheriff's Office began a search for the brothers Saturday night and located their kayaks.

They then resumed that search early Sunday.

They say the boaters saw the brothers' bodies in the water and notified the search team.

A sheriff's investigator says both had life jackets on, and were found floating face down in the lake.

The brothers are from Kyle. Comal County Justice of the Peace Jennifer Saunders has ordered an autopsy.
