Texans defensive end Antonio Smith is suspended for Houston's two remaining preseason games and the Monday Night Football regular season opener versus the San Diego Chargers, NFL.com reports.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported the suspension stems from Smith ripping the helmet off Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito and nearly striking him with it during Saturday's preseason game at Reliant Stadium.
Smith will get a chance to appeal the ban. Behind the scenes at Reliant Park, there's hope the suspension can be reduced.
This isn't the first time Smith and Incognito got into it. Last season, Smith was fined for kicking Incognito during the team's Week 1 game.
