Thieves use forklift to steal ATM from Huebner Oaks Shopping Center

Witnesses reported theft around 4 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO – An ATM was stolen from a shopping center by using a forklift on the city's Northwest Side overnight, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The call was reported around 4 a.m.

The theft took place in a parking lot at the Huebner Oaks Shopping Center located in the section near a Chipotle restaurant.

Police said witnesses saw two men using a forklift to knock the ATM off its base, and then they picked up the entire thing before placing it in the back of a Ford pick-up truck.

The forklift was left nearby, and its presumably stolen, police said.

Police said they expect to get surveillance video from the shopping center. The ATM also has cameras, wherever it is located, police said.
