SAN ANTONIO -

A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the theft of more than $10,000 worth of eye wear.

Police said the arrest of Michael Sales was due to anonymous tips they received.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that three people called a Crime Stoppers hotline and identified Sales as the person caught on camera during a break-in at Blanco Eye Works in March.

Surveillance video from the business shows a heavy set man smashing the glass window and taking eyeglass frames, the affidavit stated.

Police said they also have video of a similar suspect breaking into other vision stores recently, the affidavit stated.

The images from Blanco Eye Works and at least one other business, The Vision Source on Fredericksburg Road, recently aired on local TV stations as part of a Crime Stoppers report.

After receiving the tips, police obtained a warrant for Sales' arrest.

Police believe he stole more than $10,000 worth of eye wear, the affidavit stated.

Sales was booked into the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday on a charge of burglary.
