SAN ANTONIO – An update on the progress of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts will go against custom.
Instead of over budget and behind schedule, it is due to open early and $3 million under budget.

The Tobin Center will also have more amenities that will not cost taxpayers more.
The facility will have three separate venues so three separate events can all occur at the same time.
If the board of trustees raises the remaining $12.6 million, the Tobin Center plans to open in Sept. 2014.
